Gourmet Experience in Versailles
Market Visit/Cooking Class/Lunch in a French Home and visit to Versailles Castle
1 step: Visit of the market of Notre-Dame
Our Gourmet Tours of Versailles start with the Notre-Dame market, one of the largest and most interesting markets of Paris’ upscale suburbs. At the center of the Notre-Dame square, two mornings a week (Tuesday, Friday), numerous stalls offer a great diversity of food products: numerous fruits and vegetables (local producers) and cheese makers. Four covered markets surround the square. They shelter sedentary shopkeepers: butchers, fishmonger, cheese producers, regional products.
Marion, our expert food connoisseur will meet you in a café nearby. You will then visit the market and purchase bread and cheeses and the needed ingredients for the dish you’ll be preparing.
2nd step: Cooking and lunch in a private house
Marion will welcome you to her house located in a lovely village near Versailles. You will cook a seasonal main dish such as veal à la Normande, chicken Basquaise, duck Parmentier…
After cooking, enjoy an apéritif with Champagne and home-made appetizers (gougères, verrines, sardine rillettes…). Then you will have lunch together including the main dish, three cheeses, a home-made dessert and wine. After an espresso, it will be time for you to visit the legendary Versailles Castle.
Meet in Versailles at 9:45 am, transportation at 11:15 (+/- 20 minutes) to go to nearby La Celle Saint Cloud, and at 2:00 pm transfer to the castle.
